明德楼，2006年建成，留仙洞园区行政办公楼。“明德”典出《礼记·大学》“大学之道，在明明德”，意为彰明人固有之光明德性，此为《大学》“三纲”之首，强调修身立德乃成才立业之基。其名与西丽湖“厚德”、官龙山“崇德”诸楼呼应，以“德”为脉，串联三大园区，共彰学校以德为先之育人宗旨。
Mingde Building, completed in 2006, serves as the administrative building for Xili Campus (Liuxiandong Area). The name“Mingde”comes fromThe Great Learning in The Book of Rites:“The way of the Great Learning lies in illuminating the illustrious virtue”,meaning to illuminate and demonstrate the inherent bright virtues of a person. This is the first of the“Three Guiding Principles”in The Great Learning, emphasizing that cultivating oneself and establishing virtue is the foundation for achieving talent and building a career. Its name corresponds with other buildings such as“Houde”at Xili Lake Area and“Chongde”at Guanlong MountainArea, connecting the three areas through the theme of“virtue”and collectively highlighting the University's educational philosophy of prioritizing virtue.
