东湖，1993年浚成，西丽湖园区人工湖景观。该湖因位于校园东区（西丽湖园区），与西区（留仙洞园区）的“溪湖”形成地理呼应，故得名“东湖”。学校选址时此地原为鱼塘，建校工程中以巧思化塘为湖，并以“美人顾盼”之形营构，湖心设岛若明月，配以七墩步桥形成“七星伴月”之景，融自然意趣与人文匠心。其营造既深蕴因地制宜之智，亦见证校园岁月变迁，将历史沉淀为独特的文化记忆。
This man-made lake was completed in 1993. The lake derives its name from its location in the eastern part of the University (Xili Lake Area) and forms a geographical counterpart to its sister lake, Xihu Lake, in the western part of the University (Liuxiandong Area). Once a fishing pond, this area was ingeniously transformed into a lake landscape. The design evokes the graceful image of “A Beauty Glancing Back,” with a small island at the center resembling a bright moon. A seven-pier bridge stretches across the water. creating the scene “Seven Stars Accompanying the Moon.” The scenery not only blends natural charm with human craftsmanship, but the Lake embodies the wisdom of adapting to nature in a timeless fashion, leaving its own footprints in history.
